FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DEL. RAMADAN TO VOLUNTARILY AMEND FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE DOCUMENTS FOR FULL TRANSPARENCY
Dulles, VA | May 20, 2013 — Delegate David Ramadan (R-87) today released the following statement:
“In July of 2012 I traveled to Taiwan with the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office along with three fellow Virginia legislators and few other legislators from Maryland and West Virginia –Republicans and Democrats. The purpose of my trip was economic development opportunities for the Commonwealth. As a co-founder and co-chairman of the Business Development Caucus in the Virginia House, job creation for our community is my top priority and will always be.
I have been transparent about the trip since the moment I got on the plane. During the trip I repeatedly updated my constituents via Twitter, Facebook and my website blog. Upon my return to Virginia, I also included an update in my monthly e-newsletter which is sent to over 20,000 people.
Since learning that those accompanying me on the trip from other districts around Virginia have filed amendments to their financial disclosure reports reflecting the trip (as recently as couple days ago) I have decided out of an abundance of caution and my continuous belief in full transparency to voluntarily amend my statements as well.”
Delegate Ramadan represents the 87th House of Delegates District, which includes eastern Loudoun County and western Prince William County. He currently serves on the oldest & newest committees in the House of Delegates: Privileges & Elections (P&E) and Science & Technology (S&T). He also serves on the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission.
